JOSEFSEN FAMILY

SIMON ANDREAS JOSEFSEN came to Alaska from Hammerfest, Norway where he was born on October 19, 1880. He became a naturalized citizen of the US on May 12, 1912 in Oregon. He married Emma Edelman in 1921 in Alaska. They had five children during their marriage. In October 1955, Simon and Emma sailed from New York on the R.M.S Queen Mary bound for South Hampton, England and beyond. He died on June 6, 1968, in Anchorage, Alaska, at the age of 87. He is buried in Anchorage Memorial Park Cemetery, Anchorage, Alaska.

Their son SIMON FREDERICK JOSEFSEN, born October 23, 1930 and died August 9, 1986, is buried in the Seldovia City Cemetery.

Their daughter Emma Marie JOSEFSEN married Willaim Carlough in Seldovia in 1946. She then married Melvin Conboy in Washington on November 6, 1954 and Donald Ross Tanner on November 30, 1963 in Vancouver, Washington. She died April 30, 2003, at the Long Term Care Center of the South Peninsula Hospital in Homer, Alaska.
