APHANESIA MOONIN, “Jessie” was born on November 22, 1898, on the Kenai Peninsula, Alaska. In 1910 census she is listed as Aphanesia Yanak, the step-daughter of Demetrie and Annisea Moonin. She was living in Port Graham at the time she married James Carlough in Seldovia on September 26, 1921. They had seven children together. The family was living in Seldovia in 1930.

James died in Washington in 1935 and Jessie subsequently married Harry David Barnhart (1882-1953) on August 17, 1943 in Seldovia. She died in June of 1979 at the age of 80, and is buried in the Seldovia City Cemetery in Plot #1252, next to her son James Brooke Carlough and her daughter, Elsie Carlough Marrs.
