Father Peter Dobrovolsky died in Seldovia and was originally buried in the old Russian Cemetery near the beach. At the time of urban renewal after the 1964 earthquake, his body, along with 284 others, was dug up and reburied in the Seldovia City Cemetery. He is buried in the Russian Orthodox Section next to his daughter Paraskovia Rohde.
