GORDON ELGIN GILES, son of Fleming and Helen Lazure Giles, was born in Okanogan, Washington on November 4, 1939. The family moved to California and Gordon graduated from high school in Las Gatos, California.
He later moved to Seldovia to follow in his dad’s footsteps as a commercial fisherman.
On June 3, 1960 Gordon married Carlena Mcgee in Santa Clara, California. He was 21 and she was only 16 years old.
He was known as a jack of all trades, fixing things and helping others when needed. He loved and served the Lord faithfully.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carlena; his five children, Tina Haugstad of Olney, Montana, Virginia Johnson, Mark Giles, Gordon A. Giles and Kay Huff all of Soldotna; sister, Peggy Boscacci of Stockton, California.
Gordon died in Seldovia on July 16, 2021 and is buried in Seldovia City Cemetery, Plot#
