LARS MANDIUS PETTERSEN was born in Vikedal, Norway October 19, 1899 to Hans and Hannah Pettersen. He emigrated to the United States in 1923 and was a sawmill worker in Tacoma, Washington when he filed his naturalization papers in 1929. In 1940 he was 39 years old, single, and working as a waiter in a restaurant. In 1953 he sailed from NY back to Norway, for a six month visit. He died Mar 23, 1958 in Seldovia, and is buried in the Seldovia City Cemetery in plot 162.
